Ride into the Old City of La Rochelle

Had a wonderful afternoon ride into the Old City of La Rochelle. As we passed through the Tower Gates, including Saint-Nicolas (14th century), La Chaîne (14th century) and La Lanterne (12th and 15th centuries), it felt like we were transported back in time, surrounded by centuries-old architecture and the rich history of this coastal gem. The bustling streets were alive with the sounds of chatter, clinking glasses, and the enticing aromas of French cuisine wafting from the busy restaurants lining the cobblestone paths. We stopped at a quaint gelato shop with many interesting flavours where we had trouble choosing just one! Looking forward to returning when our friends from SailTime Houston (https://sailtime.com/location/houston/), Evan and Amanda, arrive and taking the time to enjoy the lively atmosphere, some good food, and the historic charm of La Rochelle’s Old City.
