Cedeira, Spain

Today, we sailed from Ribadeo to Cedeira, Spain. The morning started with a fresh breeze of 15-20 knots and sea swells of 6 feet, requiring one reef in the main. In the last two hours, the weather and sea conditions intensified to 30-knot winds with 8-9 foot swells, necessitating a second reef in the main and two reefs in the jib. Given the rough sea conditions, lunch consisted of a charcuterie board – not too shabby!

After 9 hours of sailing, we anchored in Cedeira, a picturesque little fishing village nestled on the rugged Galician coast, known for its stunning cliffs and serene beaches. Tired from the day’s sailing adventures, we decided to stay on board, soak in the sun’s rays (after a cold and overcast day at sea), and enjoy a dinner of chicken enchiladas, guac, and chips before heading to bed early. We were definitely all in need of some rejuvenation!
