Day One Under Sail & Sunset Anchorage at Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer

We’re off! Had a very smooth push away from the docks for our first sail with light winds. As the day progressed Kora stretched her wings, gennaker up, gliding along the Provence coastline of France at a steady 6 to 7 knots. Picture-perfect views, calm seas, and the Côte d’Azur welcoming us by early evening.

We dropped anchor in a quiet bay near Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer. The soft sandy bottom wasn’t in a hurry to hold us, and it took a few “anchor dance” attempts before we felt confident that she was truly set in.

Buzz wasted no time celebrating – first one in the Med! (See pic of his enthusiastic dive 🐬). We shared a delicious dinner on board with a bottle of local wine as the sun set, played cards, and soaked in the start of a new season aboard Kora.

This morning greeted us with sunshine, paddleboarding, and a parade of local kids zipping around in their Optis and Hobie Cats. Kate captured an epic shot of Kora from her paddleboard – proof that the best views really do come from the water!

Off to the next destination – spirits high, sails ready!
