Sailing into Calpe: A Quick Yet Magnificent Stop

Our first day sailing with Soph & Steve was an absolute blast! Steve proved to be a quick study, enthusiastically helping with fenders, lines, raising and lowering the main, and adjusting the sails. I joked that I might be out of a job!

The view of the Peñon de Ifach, often called the “Little Gibraltar,” was truly magnificent. This towering monolith on the Mediterranean coast of the Valencian Community left us all in awe.

Our stay in Calpe was brief but delightful. We enjoyed a leisurely walk into town along the inlet coast, sipping sangria in a local bar along the promenade, while taking in the beautiful views and savoring the coastal breeze. A few of us even jumped in for a refreshing dip. Our evening was capped off with a lovely dinner overlooking the beach on the Mediterranean Sea side of Calpe, while enjoying the stunning views.
